- Review of your medical & dental history
- Perform an oral cancer exam
- Soft tissue evaluation
- Bitewing X-rays (1x year)
- Panorex (1x 3-5 yrs)
The cleaning includes:
- Evaluate exisiting fillings and restorations
- Look for fractured teeth
- Decay
- Areas of concern
- Remove buildup of calculus (tartar)
- Prophy and polish
They will educate each patient on:
- The proper use of dental floss
- Toothbrush technique
- Review daily hygiene habits
- Nutrition
Discuss any concerns or questions the patient has about their personal oral hygiene. Examples include:
- Bad breath
- Swollen gums
- Bleeding gums
- Canker sores
- Fever blisters
